Dr. Anas Al-Mughairy is an Assistant Professor of Metropolitan Planning and Governance at the College of Architecture and Planning, King Saud University. He previously worked as an adjunct lecturer of urban planning at the University of Calgary, where he investigated how organizational capacity and leadership, dialogical processes between mayors and members of municipal councils, and regional identity help to shape metropolis. Dr. Anas’ research interests cover subjects of urban governance, restructuring of municipal management, inter-municipal collaboration, land use planning and management, and he has written multiple peer-reviewed research papers on issues regarding urban development and public policies. Dr. Anas holds an MSc degree in Rural Planning and Development from University of Guelph, and a PhD in Planning and Governance of Metropolitan Regions from the University of Calgary.
